Park Maintenance Person - Casual

This is a casual full-time position, working 80 hours bi-weekly based in Watson Lake.

Yukon Parks welcomes more than 85,000 visitors a year to our system of campgrounds and recreation sites. Together, our team strives to ensure that all visitors enjoy their stay and depart with great memories. Our park maintenance team plays a vital role by ensuring that our facilities and grounds are clean, safe and always ready to be enjoyed.

Our ideal candidate for this position performs routine maintenance and repairs (including minor carpentry and painting) on existing facilities such as kitchen shelters, outhouses and wood bins, as well as repairs to trails, campsites and roads. This can include tasks such as minor carpentry and painting or leveling, cutting and/or brushing trees.

Essential Qualifications

Please submit your resume clearly demonstrating how you meet the following qualifications. Please note that selection for further consideration will be based solely on the information you provide in your resume.

  • Experience performing routine maintenance and repairs to small buildings and facilities.
  • Experience towing trailers and operating equipment such as skid steers, excavators, dump trailers, chainsaws, brush cutters and log splitters.
  • Experience providing client services to the public.
  • Experience working independently in remote areas.

*Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above may be equally considered.

Candidates should have and may be assessed on:

  • Knowledge and experienced in routine facility maintenance.

Additional Information:

The incumbents of these positions are expected to work weekends and report from their headquarters area.

Conditions of Employment: Valid Yukon Class 5 driver's license.

Job Requirements: Physical work in outdoor remote settings, including weekends and holidays, in all weather conditions
