Tim Hortons is more than a place to work - it's a chance to be a part of the driving force behind a company and culture so many people love.

At RBI, we recognize that our guests no longer only make food decisions based on the food itself, but rather the entire experience surrounding the meal. We're building the team and are looking for a Head of Engineering, Tim Hortons based in our Toronto office. We are looking for a hands-on and highly technical leader, that can enable strategic and tactical projects to drive growth and improve efficiency, with a track record of managing high scale, consumer-facing digital experiences. • Help define and advance an internal Tim Hortons engineering- and advanced analytics-forward culture and strategy, including empowering cross-functional departments with the right tools, data, skillsets/training, and organization structures.
  • Collaborate with multiple business and technical teams to define and deliver complex customer facing solutions and advance partnerships, technology platforms and external relationships.
  • In partnership with the Digital and Financial Services business, identify innovative technology-driven solutions to a variety of business challenges.
  • While mostly managing a large team, the ability to 'roll up your sleeves and lead from the front' when needed is critical.
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight on triaging, troubleshooting and resolving high severity production issues.
  • Actively track and report progress to senior stakeholders on progress and value delivered.
  • Conduct technical reviews of products and solutions to evaluate their applicability for both internal teams, franchisees and consumers.
  • Develop, track, and control annual capital and operating budgets and technical spend for purchasing tools, staffing and ensuring effective operations.

What you'll need:

  • 8+ years in a Senior Management role.
  • A track record as a strategic and problem solver with an ability to translate vision into outcomes while fostering a positive and innovative workplace.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Math, Data Science and Analytics, Engineering, or Business; Master or PhD is a plus.
  • Experience and ability to provide exceptional leadership to a diverse technology team (designers, engineers, and data scientists) and to build enthusiastic, high performing teams across multiple specializations while focusing on tactical and strategic issues.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects/initiatives, objectives, groups, or activities.
  • Experience in driving large-scale change across multiple lines of business in a global organization.
  • Strong organization, analytical and problem-solving skills with an end-user focus.
