The Opportunity

The Alumni Relations - Supervising Associate reports to the Strategic Relationship Office (SRO) Leader and is responsible for managing the implementation and coordination of alumni relations programs. This includes tactical planning and direction of alumni programs and processes. The role is focused on increasing alumni engagement and brand recognition of the alumni relations program. The role will support and manage the program through key communucation channels such as: the Global Alumni portal, printed and electronic communications, LinkedIn and other social media channels. This role is responsible for providing data/reporting, metrics on the effective communication startegies and program support.

Your key responsibilities

  • Design and implement strategies for alumni engagement that align with SRO's overall objectives, with additional support for the Canadian Alumni Relations function in partnership with the Global Alumni program
  • Lead and coordinate alumni-specific events, workshops, and networking platforms to foster active and meaningful connections, managing all aspects of event logistics from venue selection to speaker engagement and communications planning
  • Curate personalized insights and high-quality thought leadership content for distribution to alumni across various channels, including the Global Alumni portal, LinkedIn group, and other social media platforms, showcasing expertise and value
  • Manage strategic content sections of Connect, the EY alumni magazine, ensuring messaging is clear, concise, and has impact while also overseeing the maintenance and expansion of alumni contact lists
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and EY leaders to develop and facilitate alumni programs aimed at enhancing their professional and leadership skills
  • Oversee the alumni relationship management process using the firm's CRM system, manage the Alumni portal, and utilize Marketo for tailored communication distribution and engagement tracking
  • Advocate for innovative technologies to enhance alumni engagement, offering strategic insights for relationship enhancement, and driving increased alumni registration and participation
  • Advise EY partners and teams on the effective utilization of the national alumni program to achieve business and relationship-building goals
  • Support retiring partners by providing structured assistance in transitioning their strategic relationships favorably into the alumni network
  • Monitor and assess the effectiveness of alumni relations initiatives, undertake post-campaign and event analyses, and continuously seek opportunities for improvement in program outreach and impact
  • Manage and execute additional projects as directed by the SRO Leader, with the expectation that business-related travel may be required, though it is anticipated to be minimal

Skills and attributes for success

  • Sound judgment to ensure content is appropriate (within broad guidelines) to post to key alumni communication channels (e.g., portal, LinkedIn, etc.)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong writing/editing skills
  • Technical skills - high competency in Microsoft Office, particularly in PowerPoint and Excel;
  • Project management skills - ability to drive projects from concept through execution, including developing project plans, managing timelines, proactively providing updates, etc.
  • Strong organizational skills - ability to ensure keep communications/projects on schedule, provide version control, accurate distribution of alumni communications, archiving, etc.
  • Brand awareness/appreciation - understand and appreciate key element of EY's strategic, visual and written brand and effectively apply them to Alumni Relations communications channels (i.e., ensure that portal banners, e-newsletters, etc. are on-brand).
  • Attention to detail - ability to carefully proof written materials, accuracy in distribution, adherence of materials to EY brand


To qualify for the role you must have

  • 5+ years of a of experience in program management, communication, and event management
  • Experience with social media platforms and the ability to proactively manage, populate content and make recommendations for increasing engagement in these channels.
  • Experience writing and editing content and communication for a variety of channels
  • Experience with Event Management
  • Experience using excel for reporting and analysis of various campaigns and events


Ideally you will also have:

  • This role involves interaction with internal and external clients and professionals nationally and globally. Professional competency in the English language is therefore a requirement of this role. Bilingualism in both French and English is considered an asset.
