Under the direct supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, this position is responsible for daily cleaning and maintenance of all public areas of the hotel while contributing to a safe and welcoming work environment. Ensures adherence to the Company's policies and procedures, motivates and leads by example and supports Great Canadian's learning environment while establishing a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members.
Key Accountabilities
Responsible for the housekeeping and cleaning of buildings, grounds and racetrack
Sweep and wash floors, clean windows, clean washrooms, take out the garbage and recycling, vacuuming floors and dusting, sanitizing and disinfecting office areas, door handles, handrails and any other duties as required
Clean paddock after live racing and will include duties such as cleaning washrooms, washing floors, hosing, cleaning drains, cleaning horse stalls, shoveling and other duties as required. Note heavy lifting will apply
Ensure compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
Manage other initiatives as required
Education and Qualifications
High School Diploma
Minimum 1 year housekeeping/janitorial experience
Ability to successfully obtain a Horseperson AGCO License
Work Environment Considerations
Standing or walking for long periods of time, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, stretching, cleaning, some exposure to heat and cold. This is a three (3) month contact position for our live racing card from June to the end of August. Must be able to work around Horses.
