Your Opportunity

The primary responsibilities of this position include:

  • Deliver safe and engaging recreation program content to our guests
  • Assist with the development and implementation of innovative new programs to meet the needs of the community
  • Maintain program equipment, supplies, and signage
  • Work in accordance with the Conservation Halton's Safety Policies & Procedures and the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations and all other related manuals
  • Other duties as assigned

Your Qualifications

  • Previous experience teaching in an outdoor recreation setting is required
  • Possess a keen interest and/or experience in one or more of the following:
    • Fitness/Wellness
    • Boating
    • Team Building
    • Archery Range
    • Challenge Course
    • Summer Camp
    • Other recreation-based activity
  • Proven commitment to providing superior customer service
  • Strong presentation and communication skills
  • Previous experience in recreation programming an asset
  • Able to adapt to the daily challenges associated with a busy outdoor recreation centre
  • Able to develop, foster, and sustain effective working relationships within the department and other Conservation Halton staff
  • Successful candidate are required to provide a Vulnerable Sector Check (VSS), to verify the absence of a criminal record for which a pardon has not been granted (if over 18 years old). *Cost covered by Conservation Halton up to $30.00.
  • Able to lift up to 20 pounds, stand, and walk for long periods of time
