Your Opportunity

The primary responsibilities of this position include:

  • Support with tasks related to the sale and booking of wedding/corporate event packages and special events.
  • Assist with onsite event logistics including material coordination, health and safety, etc
  • Attend site visits for weddings, corporate & film shoots, and sales
  • Assist with administration required for events (quotes, communications to internal/external clients, customer service)
  • Support with gathering/preparing event planning documents (permits, insurance, public health, Standard Operating Procedures)
  • Coordinate with internal teams across CH, providing recommendations to applicable departments for successful event delivery
  • Support with managing event budgets including expenses and revenues
  • Work in accordance with the Conservation Halton's Safety Policies & Procedures and the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations and all other related manuals
  • Other duties as assigned

Your Qualifications

  • Experience with event planning logistics, including pre-planning, day of, and post planning is an asset
  • Experience in recreation and leisure services with a focus on events management/planning is an asset
  • Ability to provide direction and leadership to team and work with internal/external stakeholders (vendors, businesses, and organizations)
  • Strong attention to detail, with effective time management and organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills with a focus on customer service excellence
  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible and adaptable
  • Computer skills including use of data management and virtual meeting software
  • A valid Ontario Drivers Licence, minimum Class "G2", with a satisfactory Driver's Abstract is required. *Abstract completed by Conservation Halton.
  • Successful candidates are required to provide a Vulnerable Sector Check (VSS), to verify the absence of a criminal record for which a pardon has not been granted (if over 18 years old). *Cost covered by Conservation Halton up to $30.00.
  • This role will be required to be available at times outside of regularly scheduled work hours and may include evening and weekend work to attend meetings, events and/or be available to respond to inquiries and other communication via email or phone calls.
