Your Opportunity

The primary responsibilities of this position include:

  • Lead Boat Rental Attendants through daily tasks
  • Greet guests, respond to customer inquiries and address concerns, escalating when required
  • Instruct visitors on proper use of boats & equipment and enforce the importance of boating and water safety
  • Complete visual inspection of boats and other equipment and ensure that all issued equipment meets proper safety protocols
  • Ensure that all documentation is completed and filed according to Boat Rental protocols
  • Follow proper reservation check-in/out procedures
  • Prepare and receive returned rental equipment
  • Process payments following established cash handling procedures.
  • Complete day end deposits and closing procedures.
  • Sell merchandise and related items.
  • Work in accordance with the Conservation Halton's Safety Policies & Procedures and the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations and all other related manuals.
  • Other duties as assigned

Your Qualifications

  • Must be 16 years of age or older at the time of employment
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership skills and have confidence to make quick decisions
  • Previous leadership experience is an asset
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong customer service skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes weekends and holidays; as well as shifts with varying hours, depending on factors such as weather and visitation levels
  • Experience with non-motorized watercraft (canoes, paddleboats, kayaks) is an asset
  • Experience in point-of-sale procedures is an asset
  • Knowledge of conservation areas and recreational programming is an asset
  • Able to lift up to 40 pounds, stand, and walk for long periods of time
  • Successful candidate will be required to provide a copy of Pleasure Craft Operator Certificate (PCO) prior to first day of employment (if over 16 years old). *Cost covered by Conservation Halton
  • Successful candidate will be required to provide a Criminal Record Check (CRC), to verify the absence of a criminal record for which a pardon has not been granted (if over 18 years old). *Cost covered by Conservation Halton up to $30.00.
  • A valid Ontario Drivers Licence, minimum Class "G2", with a satisfactory Driver's Abstract is required. *Abstract completed by Conservation Halton.
