Salary: At Wawanesa, salary is only one component of a holistic, comprehensive and competitive offering that we provide to our employees. The salary offered for this role is determined with consideration to various factors, including but not limited to: your work location, local labour market conditions, external market salary data, internal pay equity and the knowledge, skills, experience and anticipated proficiency in the role. Job Overview

Reporting into the Manager, Brand Marketing, the Senior Brand Marketing Specialist will support strategies to build a world class brand while increasing brand awareness nationally across Canada.

As an individual contributor on the Brand Marketing team, the Senior Brand Marketing Specialist plays a key role in supporting our business goals and objectives by building brand relevance and awareness through national and regional advertising plans and awareness programs including sponsorship and partner marketing. In addition, this team supports key enterprise-wide initiatives across our purpose-led organization, including corporate sustainability, employee communications and community teams.

The Senior Brand Marketing Specialist will also contribute to the development and evolution of our brand expression as well as refinement and adoption of our brand platform, and lead marketing communications initiatives as our commitment to member centricity evolves.

Job Responsibilities

  • With the manager, provides direction on how to bring our brand to life across all channels and initiatives including digital experiences and marketing communications campaigns and materials.
  • Leads the development and execution of brand campaigns to drive enterprise-wide brand-building initiatives.
  • Provides direction to creative/media agencies and other members of the Marketing team on development of mass and targeted campaigns, including creative concepts, messaging and media selection.
  • Ensures all ad trafficking, tracking and analytics are provided on a timely basis for brand campaigns and related activities.
  • Monitors and reports on ongoing in-market campaign activity and KPIs against objectives; pivots as needed to ensure successful outcomes on time and on budget.
  • Manages campaign budgets (media and creative) against plan and ongoing forecast adjustments.
  • Collaborates with other internal stakeholders to evolve our customer communications and brand touchpoints through development of consistent and on-brand expression and execution, simple language and intuitive omni-channel service and design.
  • Contributes to evolving the Wawanesa brand strategy, including planning and execution of brand awareness campaigns across Canada and related management and tracking of brand research and metrics.
  • Provides support to other members of the team in crisis situations to ensure our brand is protected across all channels.
  • As part of the Brand Marketing team, manages the updating and ongoing implementation and roll out of our brand guidelines and enforces brand identity standards across the enterprise to internal and external audiences.
  • Maintains an in-depth understanding of changing marketing/media landscape and trends.
  • Builds a reputation across all teams and internal clients as a credible, trusted advisor.

Qualifications

  • University degree or college diploma in business, marketing, marketing communications, or related field.
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience working in marketing communications or related department or relevant agency.
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering creatively inspiring, business-driving briefs and presentations.
  • Demonstrated expertise leading and executing marketing campaigns/sponsorships, managing relationships and collaborating with external agencies and/or creative and media partners.
  • Experience supporting and executing large-scale integrated campaigns and budgets.
  • Demonstrated success working with cross-functional teams,collaborating with and engaging multiple internal and external stakeholders towards a common goal.
  • Advertising agency and/or media planning experience across traditional and digital channels.
  • Experience progressing work through various stakeholders including senior leaders, communications, strategy, business operations.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity.
  • A strong communicator and dynamic presenter capable of conveying complex ideas and strategies across diverse groups including senior leaders.
  • A down to earth and open collaborator with exceptional project management skills who balances detail driven work with delivering on objectives and timelines.
  • Relentlessly curious about marketing, brand, and customer centricity.
  • Experience promoting and marketing community programs and/or sustainability initiatives an asset.
  • Experience within insurance an asset.
  • Bilingualism an asset.
