Reports to: Vice President, Partnership Sales & Marketing

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Partnership Marketing (PM) team is a major driver of revenue and creator of future revenue visibility for Canucks Sports & Entertainment (CSE). The leader of the PM team will have the vision and energy to build a benchmark team and will be charged with delivering industry-leading value to partners and protecting and growing CSE’s revenue. They will accomplish this by developing our people, constantly evolving our plan, and building a winning culture founded on teamwork, value, partner-centricity, and relationships.

CSE REVENUE TEAM MINDSET:

As part of the aligned goals of the CSE Revenue team, a core strategy mindset is embodied by the leader of the PM Team: value creation, curiosity, always on personality, dedication to excellence, creative storytelling, and relationship building.

This role will focus on:

People & Development

  • Building and inspiring a team of creative storytellers that celebrates collaboration and innovative thinking to make a business difference for each partner
  • Driving awareness of our partners across the entire CSE organization
  • Ensuring that all team members have a strong sense of purpose and understanding of our aspirational plan and their specific role
  • Embracing a commitment to coaching and developing our next generation of CSE leaders

Analyzing Partners & Customized Approach

  • Understanding the specific business of each partner and identify ways to deliver on objectives
  • Developing ways to create new value for our current partners, renewing and extending those relationships early, and growing investment from our current partners
  • Helping develop paths to reach CSE revenue targets; consistently strategizing for business and relationship growth
  • Ensuring we are developing the revenue streams for all CSE properties (Vancouver Canucks, Abbotsford Canucks, Warriors, and Surge)
  • Fostering a creative environment that inspires new ideas, programs, and activations with a key understanding of how to effectively curate them to our partners
  • Actively monitoring all elements of the sports, entertainment, leisure, and service industries for inspiration from best practices that can be utilized in our business

Deliverables, Execution & Growth

  • Leading PM team with a value-add approach to deliver best-in-class partnerships; overseeing partner executions across all CSE properties
  • Actively tracking value delivery throughout partnership terms and ensuring delivery of all contractual benefits and more
  • Along with PM team, maintaining a strong presence at Canucks and Warriors home games, and travel as necessary for relationship building, value delivery, etc.
  • Establishing clear and open lines of communication with partners and key stakeholders; prioritizing face-to-face opportunities with our partners
  • Maintaining a solution-oriented approach to problem solving and managing feedback
  • Capitalizing on opportunities to upsell and understand how to convert them successfully

    YOU HAVE:

    • At least five years of senior level experience in partnership marketing in sports and entertainment or brand-side/agency experience purchasing and/or activating corporate partnerships
    • Action-oriented personality with a high degree of initiative and the knack for getting things done
    • Commitment to a vision of servicing excellence that will make us the preferred partner of our corporate partners
    • Strong understanding of the value of relationship building, both internally at CSE and externally to partners
    • Demonstrated leadership skills that have directly resulted in team success and individual team member growth and development
    • Excellent knowledge in the practices and principles related to the sale, negotiation, implementation, and execution of contractual corporate partnership process
    • Advanced of PowerPoint and Excel, knowledge of KORE or similar CRM platform
    • Familiarity with standard value tracking and measurement tools
    • Proven ability to build, motivate and lead teams
    • Superior communication, conflict resolution skills, with the ability to relate professionally to all levels of staff, management, clientele, suppliers, and partners.
    • Excellent planning, organizational and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to handle conflicting deadlines and prioritize
    • A strong understanding of and commitment to uphold our company values of discipline, respect, excellent, attitude, and mindset (DREAM)
    • Flexibility and willingness to work evenings and weekends as required
    • Onsite role at our office in downtown Vancouver
