True Key Hotels & Resorts proudly manages Nootka Marine Adventures at Nootka Sound Resort, located in Galiano Bay, in the pristine and tranquil wilderness of beautiful British Columbia. Nootka Sound Resort is an all-inclusive floating resort with all the amenities of home. Our guests can enjoy a large meeting/dining room which includes a pool and poker table and gourmet meals prepared by our chef using the freshest local ingredients. Staff amenities include watercraft usage, staff room complete with video games, movies and board games, meals, accommodation, and amazing opportunities for freshwater and saltwater fishing.

This position is available at Nootka Sound Resort, with an expected start date of May 15, 2021.


Position Requirements:


  • Proven experience as a resort chef
  • Exceptional proven ability of kitchen management
  • Ability in dividing responsibilities and monitoring progress
  • Outstanding communication and leadership skills.
  • Up-to-date with culinary trends and optimized kitchen processes.
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • WHMIS and Food Safe Certified.
  • Minimum Red Seal certification, or equivalent.


Responsibilities Include but not limited to:


  • Comply with sanitation regulations and safety standards.
  • Prepare a pre-set menu designed by our Executive Chef
  • Prepare menus with new or existing culinary creations ensuring variety, quality, and exceptional plated presentation.
  • Plan orders for equipment and food ingredients according to identified shortages.
  • Mentor and supervise two other members of the culinary team.
  • Adhere to, promote, and contribute to Nootka Marine Adventures’ sustainability policies and goals.


This is a live on site position.


Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
