Job Summary:

We are looking for a professional, high-energy bartender with excellent communication skills. The bartender will need knowledge in serving classic cocktails, wine and craft beers. The bartender will greet customers, learn about their preferences, answer questions, recommend menu items, and prepare and serve beverages and food. You will also upsell items, utilize proper equipment and ingredients, and handle basic cleaning duties. The bartender will also maintain a positive and respectful relationship with team members.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Select and mix ingredients, garnish and serve beverages to customers
  • Check identification to ensure customers are the legal age to purchase alcohol
  • Take inventory and order supplies to ensure bar is well-stocked
  • Adhere to all food safety and quality regulations
  • Handle cash, credit, and debit card transactions, ensure charges are accurate and return correct change to guests, and balance the cash register
  • Maintain a clean work and dining area by cleaning tables, bar tops, and washing glasses, utensils, and equipment

Required Qualifications and Abilities

  • Minimum 2 years bartending experience
  • Meets provincial minimum age to serve alcohol
  • Serving It Right Certificate required
  • Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Positive, engaging personality, and professional appearance
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong task and time management abilities
  • Eye for detail and understanding of drink mixing tools and techniques
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, etc. for extended periods, and lift up to 25 lbs

Working Conditions

Hours of operation are weather dependent. Due to the nature of the business, this position requires flexibility in terms of your work schedule. Work schedules may include a variety of start times, including shifts on weekends and statutory holidays. Shifts require standing for long periods of time, lifting, twisting, and other forms of manual tasks.
