Painter

Working for Central Reservations, the ideal candidate will be an experienced painter and is expected to be able to apply paint and other finishes to interior and exterior surfaces of buildings and other structures. The candidate does not need to be ticketed, but must have drywall patching skills and be able to cut in and tape as needed. This is a summer position, with all equipment supplied.

Job Duties Include

• Read specifications to determine quantities of materials required
• Prepare and clean surfaces using methods such as scraping, sanding, sandblasting, hydro-blasting and steam-cleaning; remove old wallpaper and loose paint; repair cracks and holes in walls; and sandpaper and apply sealer
• Mix and thin paint to obtain desired colour and texture
• Apply paint or other materials, such as stains, lacquer, enamel, oil, varnish, or fire retardant using brushes, rollers or spray equipment
• Assemble and erect scaffolding and swing stages as needed

Wages:

• Wage range $21.00 to $30.00 Hr depending on skill level
• 4 day work week 10 hrs per day
