ATCO Frontec is seeking a 2nd Cook (Night Supervisor) to join our kitchen team at the Elk Valley Lodge in Elkford, BC. We're looking for a great teammate who knows their way around the kitchen! As the 2nd Cook (Night Supervisor), you will ensure all breakfast and baked goods are prepared and served to a standard that even the toughest food critic would approve of. When the Chef is out on rotation, you will be ready and willing to step in and provide coverage for the role.

This position is on a 20 days on and 10 days off rotation, with 10 hour shifts. It will be 10 days of Breakfast Cook responsibilities, and 10 days of Night Shift Supervisor responsibilities.

The Role:

  • Kitchen responsibilities: Act as the right-hand person to the Chef and provide support with all food preparation served at designated times, while in strict compliance with ATCO Frontec Food Service Management Guides.
  • Inventory Control: Coordinate the supply of all food areas according to the number of people to be served, with a focus on quality, appearance, and sufficient stock levels to reduce food waste.
  • Leadership: Train staff and assign work area responsibilities to make sure the food preparation and service is sanitary, efficient and in accordance with all safety procedures and requirements.
  • Sanitization: Inspect the kitchen facilities, utensils and equipment for regulatory compliance including kitchen logs and daily cleaning schedules.

What you bring:

  • 3-4 years' proven experience as 2nd Cook or Kitchen Supervisor in the camp/hotel/restaurant industry.
  • Advanced Food Safe Certificate is required.
  • Professional communication skills (oral and written), and the ability to work with and supervise other kitchen employees.

Compensation:

  • Base wage: $22.00/h + opportunity for overtime
