Summary

We are currently hiring for a Food Service Manager to join our Western Canada team. Reporting to the Director, Merchandising, the Food Service Manager will lead and develop improved food execution and performance for Western Canada and is responsible for leading a team of Food Service Specialists. The Food Service Manager will serve as a strategic thinker who will take full responsibility for the direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control, food safety and completion of food-related projects ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments, and goals.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • Innovates the Circle K brand through strategic problem-solving efforts related to our Fresh Food Fast (FFF) initiatives.

  • Collaborate with the Marketing & Merchandising team, Business Unit leadership, store leadership, and Food service subject matter experts to ensure training materials are effective, current, relevant, and compatible with Company policies and standards to maximize future growth of the food category.

  • Leads a team of Food Service Specialists to develop, maintain, train, and ensure adherence to all formal operational processes and procedures related to FFF.

  • Integrates standards that promote operational adherence to and continual improvement of food safety and HACCP standards.

  • Accountable for Ecosure Food Safety Audit passing rates and corrective action resolution.

  • Ensures operational compliance with requirements by monitoring and adherence to policies and procedures, and governmental regulations; advises Operations of needed actions.

  • Provides Food Safety Management Certification (ServSafe) training and testing for Store Managers and other identified store and field employees within the BU.

  • Cultivates a safe and secure working environment through the implementation of safety practices, providing information and training.

  • Maintains project schedules by monitoring progress, coordinating activities, and resolving problems.

  • Monitors and communicates progress related program and project deliverables.

  • Monitors, evaluates and records training activities and programs effectiveness and makes recommendation for adjustments.

  • Recommends changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive Developments, to the Food Category team, Merchandising Director, and VP Operations.

  • Maximizes store sales by directing and assisting Operations with fresh food merchandising programs, providing information, and recapping promotional activities.

  • Utilizes a variety of reports to conduct training needs assessments, schedules and evaluates results and reports back to Operations regarding outcomes and makes recommendations for improvements.

  • Performs multiple tasks in a fast paced and detail-oriented environment.

  • Provides effective communication to Operations, development team and others involved with the implementation of FFF programs and projects.

  • Responds to all inquiries related to assigned projects promptly.

  • Performs other duties as assigned, which are likely to vary over time.

  • Achieves financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions. Allocates program costs by preparing operational and risk reports for analysis.

  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reading professional publications, establishing personal networks; or participating in professional societies.

  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing determined Financial and Key Result Area targets pursuant to Company Plan guidelines.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred. Other combinations of job-related experience and education that meet the requirements may be substituted.

  • Five to seven years of experience or more preferred, including at least three years of management responsibility.

  • Proficient in MS Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

  • A current valid driver’s license with clean abstract is required to operate company vehicle.

  • May require up to 35% travel.
