THE POSITION

The Bartender Assistant is responsible for assisting in set-up and stocking the station prior to event start as well as confirming a high quality of customer service and cleanliness is maintained throughout the shift. This role will be responsible for ensuring all company policy and regulations regarding food and alcohol service are abided by.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Assist the TELUS Club and Dutton's Lounge bartenders in the set-up of the bar;
• Stock bar cabinets for glassware, cups, condiments, etc. prior to event start;
• Keep track of bar supplies and beverages out of the storage room. Enter date accurately on the tracking sheet;
• Perform cleaning duties as required;
• Check the bar throughout the event to ensure the area is clean and operating efficiently;
• Assist in closing of the bar at the end of the event and conducting a final bar area clean;
• Assist in answering guest questions as required;
• All other duties as assigned.

THE INDIVIDUAL

The ideal candidate will have the following background:

• 2+ years bartending/bartending assistance experience;
• Must be ProServe certified and be 18 years of age or older;
• Strong mathematical skills specifically in counting cash and making change;
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks at once;
• Positive, self-start with strong communication skills;
• Strong interpersonal and team work skills;

This position will remain open until suitable candidates are found.

Shifts are event driven and consist of mainly evenings and weekends. Flexible availability is required.
