The Housekeeping Aide performs a variety of cleaning duties such as but not limited to damp dusting; dry and wet mopping of floors; floor maintenance and refinishing using appropriate equipment; cleaning & disinfecting ceiling, wall, vent, washroom, bed, furniture and equipment; regular and biomedical waste collection and removal; spill clean-up; bed-making; and maintaining the overall cleanliness of the facility according to organizational policies, procedures and routines. QUALIFICATIONS:Education & Experience Grade 10 or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesPhysical ability to carry out the duties of the position.Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.Ability to deal with others effectively.Ability to organize work.Ability to operate related equipment.The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes. What you’ll do

The Housekeeping Aide is responsible for maintaining the overall cleanliness of the facility through dusting, mopping, and disinfecting surfaces. Duties also include waste removal, spill clean-up, and bed-making according to organizational policies.

Requirements

Candidates must have Grade 10 education or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Physical ability to perform cleaning duties and effective communication skills are required.
