Meaty Eats is a specialty retailer focusing on Fresh Organic Meats and Charcuterie, as well as in-house Breads, pastry, and Prepared Foods. We operate two locations in the GTA and focus on the customer experience. in delivering our food service and culinary programs. By preparing various breads, baked goods, desserts, and pasties, they help us achieve our mission to be the trusted choice for value-added meat products in the GTA. A background in food service or hospitality is required. Main Duties Plan, implement, and manage daily operations Prepare a wide variety of top-tier goods such as breads, pastries, cakes, ice creams, and pies Decorate pastries using advanced & unique methods so that they are appealing to the eye Monitor supplies and ingredients necessary for daily operations Check the quality of the material and the condition of the equipment Keep a clean workspace. Train, guide, and motivate assistants Adhere to health and safety standards Help train retail store associates on products, including talking points, to assist in delivering a world-class shopping experience. Other duties as required Requirements Previous working experience as a Pastry Chef / Baker for 4+ years Complete knowledge of baking with ingredient limitations (pastries that are gluten-free, sugarless, etc.) Physically capable of being on foot for an entire shift and can lift 50lbs Friendly attitude, Punctual, Focused & Driven Strong communication and customer service skills Working Conditions Commercial kitchen and retail store environment Working with refrigerated and frozen products Working with high heat sources Modern, progressive kitchen and tech-savvy retail environment Must be able to meet a flexible work schedule

Requirements

Requires at least four years of experience as a pastry chef or baker and comprehensive baking knowledge, including adapting recipes to ingredient limitations such as gluten-free or sugarless requirements. Candidates must be able to stand for an entire shift and lift 50 pounds, and should be punctual, focused, friendly, driven, and strong in communication and customer service.
