About the role

Job Summary

The Food Service Worker is responsible for providing excellent customer service while assisting with the daily operation of a busy cafeteria. This role includes food preparation, serving customers, maintaining food safety and sanitation standards, operating a cash register, stocking products, and ensuring the dining area remains clean and welcoming.

Final compensation will be determined based on relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity. We are committed to offering competitive compensation and comply with all applicable pay transparency legislation. Further details regarding our total rewards offerings will be shared by the Talent Acquisition team during the hiring process. Canadian work experience is not a requirement for this role. Please note that artificial intelligence–based tools may be used at certain stages of the recruitment and applicant screening process.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and serve food according to recipes and portion standards. Provide friendly, efficient customer service. Operate the cash register and process customer transactions accurately. Replenish food, beverages, and supplies throughout the shift. Maintain cleanliness of food service areas, dining rooms, and kitchen equipment. Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace health and safety procedures. Assist with dishwashing, cleaning, and other duties as assigned. Work collaboratively with team members to ensure efficient daily operations.

FoodSafe Level 1 Certification is an asset. Familiar with the use of a cash register is an asset. Strong time management and organizational skills to be able to manage heavy workload. Ability to work both independently and in team setting as required. Good command of English language, both verbal and written and ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Previous food service experience in healthcare, hotel, restaurant or fast food is considered an asset. Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
