Job Description

The Spa at Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Registered Massage Therapist Trainer to join our team. This role is responsible for delivering exceptional guest experiences through massage and body treatment services while leading the training, development, and ongoing support of our Massage Therapy team.

Reporting directly to the Spa Director, the successful candidate will play an integral role in maintaining service excellence, fostering team engagement, and ensuring all spa standards and protocols are upheld. This position requires a motivated professional who leads by example and is passionate about mentorship, guest care, and continuous improvement.

Pay Rate: $ 24.68/hour (only applicable while conducting training)
Start Date: June 2026
Contract: Permanent

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform massage therapy and body treatment services on a full-time basis

  • Provide training, coaching, and ongoing development for Massage Therapists

  • Maintain flexibility in scheduling based on operational and training requirements

  • Participate in the recruitment and selection process for new Massage Therapists

  • Assist with onboarding and orientation for new colleagues, including scheduling, JTC completion, and identifying future training needs

  • Conduct weekly audits of treatment room set-up and cleanliness standards, reporting findings to Spa Management for follow-up

  • Foster a positive and professional work environment by leading by example

  • Maintain exceptional professionalism and guest service standards at all times

  • Continuously review, refine, and reassess treatment protocols and service standards

  • Participate in one of the hotel committees, including Sustainability, Heartist Recognition, Diversity & Inclusion, Wellness, or Health & Safety

  • Achieve monthly retail goals while serving as a role model for spa colleagues

  • Ensure all colleagues follow health, safety, and sanitation procedures in accordance with Alberta workplace standards for spas and salons

  • Support operational excellence and contribute to overall guest satisfaction and team success

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Registered Massage Therapist required
  • Previous training, mentoring, or leadership experience preferred
  • Certification from an accredited Massage Therapy school required
  • All professional licenses and certifications must remain current
  • CPR and First Aid certification required
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Highly responsible, reliable, and self-motivated
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Demonstrated professionalism and commitment to exceptional guest service
  • Minimum one-year commitment required for this role

Physical Requirements

Candidates must be able to meet the physical demands of the position, including but not limited to:

  • Frequent standing and walking throughout shifts

  • Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, and lifting

  • Occasional ascending and descending stairs and ramps
