Director of Culinary

Now, if you were to come on board as our Director of Culinary, we’d ask you to do the following for us:

• Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients
• Comply and maintain with Compass Group Canada and client operating policies and procedures
• Ensure Health and Safety and Food Safety compliance
• Develop menu cycles and recipes as the “Owner of Culinary Experience”
• Conduct special events which raise the culinary profile that may include special tastings, food sampling, chef’s tables or display cooking-action stations
• Manage high-profile catered functions
• Maintain superior product and service quality standards by conducting ongoing evaluations
• Continuously improve operational systems and procedures
• Maintain equipment standards of care and maintenance
• Coach, mentor, develop and performance manage employees to their full potential
• Provide in-unit training for culinary programs

• Here’s how we’ll know you’ll be successful in the role:
• Post-secondary education: Culinary and Business Administration
• Minimum 5 years’ progressive culinary experience in a complex and demanding environment, managing a team of chefs
• Red Seal preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
• Exceptional interpersonal skills that include verbal and written
