The Front Office Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the front desk while leading and supporting the team of front desk agents and bell staff to ensure exceptional guest service.
Responsibilities:
Oversee front desk operations, including check-ins, check-outs, guest special requests, and reservations. Deliver exceptional customer service by welcoming guests, answering inquiries, and resolving issues professionally. Train, mentor, and support front desk team members, ensuring compliance with service standards and hotel policies. Manage work schedules, time-off requests, and shift replacements to ensure proper coverage at all times. Coordinate with other departments to maintain effective communication and ensure efficient problem resolution. Handle guest complaints proactively and reactively to ensure guest satisfaction. Respond to guest comments and reviews across various online platforms in a professional, courteous, and brand-aligned manner. Oversee room inventory balancing and reconciliation to maintain accurate availability and operational data. Ensure compliance with check-in/check-out procedures, as well as security and confidentiality policies. Perform administrative duties such as compiling reports, maintaining records, and managing billing. Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming front desk environment. Perform any other related duties to ensure the quality of service within the department.
Qualifications and Required Skills:
College diploma in Hospitality Management is considered an asset. Previous front desk experience, including at least four years in a supervisory role. Experience in a unionized environment is a strong asset. Experience managing and responding to online guest reviews is an asset. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to work under pressure and manage delicate situations effectively. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop a team. Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail. Proficiency in hotel management systems and computer tools. Knowledge of standard operating procedures in the hospitality industry.
Languages: Bilingualism (French and English) spoken and written is required for this position as we serve an international clientele.
