Manpower is currently hiring for a Production Supervisor to support a growing facility in Port Colborne.
Responsibilities Lead a team of Production Technicians operating in a 24/7 shift schedule As part of the Leadership Group, manage Safety and Quality Assurance Programs. Ensure compliance with all health & safety regulations, policies and procedures for all workers performing tasks in the Purification Department. Uphold the achievement of safety targets. Ensure (HACCP) requirements are met for food safety. Keeping quality top priority Perform workplace inspections every shift to keep the department “audit ready” at all times. Implement practical continuous improvement Kaizen initiatives to improve operating results. Monitor the process and make adjustments when required Prepare for daily maintenance requirements and shutdown and lockout equipment to be worked on. Monitor plant steam and electrical consumption to meet sustainability targets. Oversee the training and performance of Technicians. Health and safety compliance Communicate effectively within the Management Team and through interdepartmental collaboration. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas: electrical, mechanical, stationary or chemical (either specific courses, process work experience, or education). BASc degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry is an asset. 5 years in manufacturing, preferably in food manufacturing or in a continuous flow refining process. A leader with the ability to support and motivate staff. Collaborative with a team-building spirit. Confident personality with assertiveness, independence and initiative. Resourceful and focused with a first-principal approach. Strong Microsoft Office experience. Ability to implement change and motivate continuous improvement. This position requires the ability to perform tasks that are essential to safe and effective operation within a manufacturing environment, including: Standing and walking for extended periods during production activities. Bending, lifting, and carrying materials or equipment up to 23 kg/50 lbs using proper techniques. Safely navigating stairs, ladders, and occasionally working in confined spaces, as required by operational needs.
Pay range and compensation package
