About the role
Under the direct supervision of the Operations Manager – Slots & Guest Services, the Slot Attendant provides excellent customer service, while monitoring and maintaining slot machines and supporting Bingo play. Responsibilities include assisting guests with jackpot payouts, handling cash transactions, resolving machine issues, completing required paperwork, and helping create a safe and welcoming environment for guests and team members. The Slot Attendant follows company policies and procedures, leads by example, and supports Casino Victoria’s positive, inclusive, and team-oriented workplace culture.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Act as a front-line guest service liaison by greeting guests, answering questions, assisting with game and facility orientation, and providing information on events and promotions to create a positive gaming experience.
- Promote and process Encore Loyalty sign-ups while maintaining knowledge of current and upcoming promotions and assisting with their execution.
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of slot machines, bingo games, gaming procedures, and facility operations.
- Reconcile bingo paper inventory, assemble and issue floats, assign and issue bingo cards, and assist with session preparation and setup.
- Provide prompt, courteous, and professional service to guests on the gaming floor and at the guest service desk.
- Verify and process jackpots, short pays, cancelled credits, and bingo payouts; clear bill and ticket jams; maintain game integrity; and resolve guest inquiries and disputes.
- Verify, reconcile, and assume responsibility for assigned inventory, assets, cash floats, and gaming supplies.
- Operate gaming equipment, terminals, monitors, computerized systems, and related technology accurately and efficiently.
- Calculate and enter game payouts accurately into operating systems.
- Secure and control all bingo cage areas, including guest service stations, assets, inventory, and cash-related materials.
- Assist with guest inquiries, sales, card verification, and inventory reconciliation while adhering to cash-handling procedures, internal controls, company policies, and BCLC requirements.
- Inspect equipment and systems before each session to ensure proper functionality and readiness.
- Maintain awareness of schedules, staffing levels, session formats, promotions, and special offerings.
- Ensure adequate inventory levels of required supplies and products.
- Comply with all company, BCLC, and Human Resources policies and procedures, including reporting and escalating violations when necessary.
- Participate in a professional, collaborative, and supportive team environment that promotes open communication and teamwork.
- Comply with procedures for all notable and significant cash or cash-equivalent transactions.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education and Qualifications
- High School diploma; post-secondary education an asset
- Ability to successfully obtain a Gaming worker License & Serving It Right
- Customer service skills
- Strong mathematical skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective and service oriented communication
