Maintenance Technician - Delta Hotel Vancouver Delta

Exciting news! A fantastic job opportunity to be our Maintenance Technician has just opened up in Delta at the Delta Hotel Vancouver Delta!  

The Maintenance technician is a friendly technician whose responsibilities will be to make sure all the equipment in the hotel is taken care of. In this role, they must have a solid understanding of plumbing and electrical systems, as well as carpentry, and maintaining pool systems. They must have excellent attention to detail, is skilled in problem resolution, and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.  

The successful candidate should be focused on providing professional service and creating a memorable stay through personalized guest experiences. We’re looking for individuals who want to help shape the guest experience in a brand-new environment and who are ensuring the hotel is well cared for and adequate to support the company’s business operations.

Job Requirements:

  • Maintain the physical facilities through Marriott's structured program of preventive maintenance and repair 
  • Ensure pool & hot tub chemistry and temperature is in accordance with current health department standards and tracked
  • Ensures the safety and security of the hotel grounds and building 
  • Maintains the hotel grounds and landscaping in a neat and attractive manner 
  • Develop maintenance procedures and ensure implementation
  • Carry out inspections of the facilities to identify and resolve issues
  • Check electrical and hydraulic systems of buildings to ensure functionality
  • Plan and oversee all repair and installation activities
  • Monitor equipment inventory and place orders when necessary
  • Monitor expenses and control the budget for maintenance
  • Manage relationships with contractors and service providers
  • Keep maintenance logs and report on daily activities
  • In winter months, ensure timely snow removal and the safety of walkways and parking lots 

 

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Experience in planning maintenance operations
  • Solid understanding of technical aspects of plumbing, carpentry, electrical systems etc.
  • Working knowledge of facilities machines and equipment
  • Ability to keep track of and report on activity
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Degree from a vocational school or BSc/BA in business administration or facility management will be an advantage

  • Extremely detail-oriented
  • Exceptional analytical skills needed for critical decision-making
  • Excellent time-management skills
  • Excellent technical expertise
  • Maintenance experience in an hotel environment will be a asset
