Hotel Supervisor / Assistant Operations
Location: Ottawa - Kanata, ON Job Type: Full-Time Schedule: Irregular / Rotating Schedule
We are seeking a motivated, reliable, and hands-on Hotel Supervisor / Assistant Operations team member to join our hotel operation located in Ottawa - Kanata.
This role is operationally focused and requires a candidate who can support housekeeping, front desk, inventory, inspections, administrative functions, and day-to-day hotel operations.
This position reports directly to the Hotel Managers / Manager.
Requirements:
- Mandatory previous hotel housekeeping experience
- Ability to perform up to 35 room inspections per day and maintain housekeeping standards
- Ability to do 10+ room cleaning when needed, bed stripping, laundry operations, and housekeeping procedures
- Ability to work weekends, evenings, early mornings, and nights when required
- Ability to work an irregular / rotating schedule
- Ability to cover Front Desk duties on an on-call basis when needed
- Ability to climb ladders
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail, accountability, and professionalism
- Basic computer and reporting skills (Windows/Excel/Word/Gmail & Outlook)
Key Responsibilities:Housekeeping Inspections & Daily Operations
- Inspect 30 to 35 cleaned rooms daily and verify cleanliness and hotel standards
- Prepare rooms for inspections
- Report deficiencies, damages, and operational concerns to management
- Support, guide, and assist housekeeping staff throughout the day
- Assist with workload distribution, task tracking, and departmental checklist updates
- Monitor daily housekeeping performance and completion
- Maintain the inventory count daily / during each inspection
Hotel Operations & Team Support
- Track attendance and report performance concerns
- Maintain communication with management and operational teams
- Execute assigned operational tasks and confirm completion
- Assist with Front Desk coverage when needed
- Support on-the-go cleaning and operational coverage in common areas
- Assist with room readiness, turnover preparation, and maintaining operational standards
Inventory, Laundry & Supplies
- Track low stock levels and professionally report shortages
- Inventory tracking and supply usage monitoring
- Monitor linen flow, rotation, and laundry operations
- Track chemical usage and ensure standards are maintained
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety in laundry and storage areas
- Identify missing or unaccounted items and report concerns
Room Equipment & Property Tracking
- Track room appliances including microwaves, fridges, TVs, and related equipment
- Complete appliance condition logs and operational reports
- Report maintenance issues, damages, replacement needs, and deficiencies
- Assist with maintaining hotel operational checklists and logs
Guest, Administrative & Operational Support
- Assist with guest room and conference room setup when required
- Support communication with caseworkers or external partners when needed
- Assist with payroll preparation and hour tracking
- Support administrative and operational record keeping
- Assist with ensuring deposits and documentation are properly completed and recorded
Standards, Safety & Compliance
- Maintain cleanliness standards across rooms, common areas, storage, and operational spaces
- Support enforcement of housekeeping, safety, organization, and operational standards
- Follow all company procedures, privacy policies, and safety protocols
- Maintain strict confidentiality of guest, employee, and company information
- Report hazards, risks, maintenance concerns, or policy violations immediately
Compensation:
- Wage: $19.00 per hour
