About the role
Metanoia Café & Dessert Bar is looking for a passionate, creative, and detail-oriented Pastry Chef & Baker to join our growing team.
We are a high-end café known for specialty pastries, elevated desserts, espresso-based drinks, and exceptional customer experience. We are looking for someone who takes pride in quality, consistency, cleanliness, and presentation.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and bake various dessert items
- Prepare and bake various savoury items
- Assist with daily pastry production and preparation
- Maintain consistency in taste, presentation, and quality
- Follow recipes and production standards
- Monitor inventory and freshness of ingredients
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment
- Work efficiently during busy production hours
- Assist with new menu and seasonal item development
- Set the pastry and savoury display as per instructions.
Requirements
- Previous experience in pastry or bakery production
- Knowledge of laminated doughs, creams, fillings, and dessert preparation
- Knowledge of recipe conversation to product without training.
- Ability to work early morning shifts (5am start time)
- Strong attention to detail and organization
- Can work independently and able to provide the list of products required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
- Professional attitude and strong work ethic
- Food Handler Certification is a must

Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour
