Who We?re Looking For: Desi Bar and Grill is currently hiring Kitchen Helpers and Dishwashers to join our fast-paced Indian restaurant kitchen in Toronto. We are looking for reliable, hardworking team players who are passionate about cleanliness, food preparation, and supporting kitchen operations.

Position Details

• Full-Time
• Evening shifts
• Weekend availability required

Key Responsibilities

• Assist chefs and cooks with basic food preparation (cutting, chopping, marinating).
• Prepare ingredients according to Indian/Desi cuisine standards.
• Wash dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment.
• Operate dishwashing machines and perform hand-washing as required.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen, dish, and prep areas.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation guidelines at all times.
• Properly store, label, and restock food and kitchen supplies.
• Dispose of garbage and recycling according to health regulations.
• Assist with general kitchen cleaning (sweeping, mopping, wiping surfaces).
• Support kitchen staff during busy service hours.
• Assist with opening and closing duties as needed.

Requirements & Certifications

• Previous kitchen helper, dishwasher, or restaurant experience is required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
• Strong attention to cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety.
• Physically able to stand for long periods and lift kitchen supplies.
• Reliable, punctual, and hardworking with a positive attitude.
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
