About the role

Job Type: Regular People are at the heart of our success. Our culture encourages collaboration, transparency, and accountability in order to generate value and achieve sustainable results. Being part of the team means committing to an environment where everyone’s impact truly matters. At Agropur, each role directly contributes to key results. Execution is measured by impact and value created—not the number of actions. Key Responsibilities

  1. Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Leadership Own the enterprise budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes, ensuring alignment across business units, plants, and corporate functions. Lead monthly/quarterly business performance reviews with executive leadership, providing variance analysis, risk/opportunity identification, and actionable recommendations. Partner with commercial, operations, and supply chain leaders to evaluate business cases, capital projects, pricing decisions, and M&A/integration activity. Drive continuous improvement in planning cycle times, forecast accuracy, and rolling forecast discipline.
  2. Costing (Center of Expertise) Oversee the optimization of costing processes, data quality, and financial systems capabilities, including SAP-based costing tools, while supporting cross-functional transformation initiatives led by the Central Costing organization. Ensure costing methodologies are accurate, consistent, and aligned with GAAP/IFRS and internal controls requirements. Partner with Operations and Supply Chain to identify cost reduction opportunities, analyze plant efficiency/variance, and support make-vs-buy, sourcing, and network optimization decisions. Lead standard cost setting, roll-ups, and annual cost update processes.
  3. Business Intelligence & Reporting Define and lead the enterprise BI strategy, establishing scalable reporting infrastructure, KPIs, and dashboards that provide self-service insight to business leaders. Standardize financial and operational reporting definitions across the organization to ensure a single version of the truth. Champion adoption of modern BI/analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and data governance practices in partnership with IT/Data teams. Modernize and automate reporting processes to reduce manual effort and increase speed-to-insight. Own and drive the weekly AMB (Agropur Management Board) scorecard, with accountability for the Financial and Performance content. Commercial and Manufacturing KPIs are provided by the respective function owners and consolidated into a single, concise view to support rapid, informed decision-making at the leadership level, including metrics such as: Ensure the AMB scorecard highlights key trends, risks, and exceptions – not just raw metrics – so leadership can act quickly on emerging issues and opportunities. Own internal and external benchmark performance: track plant-to-plant and business-unit-to-business-unit performance internally, and benchmark Agropur's financial, commercial, and manufacturing performance against industry peers and best-in-class external references. Translate benchmarking insights into targeted improvement priorities, informing the VBM framework, costing standards, and the AMB scorecard.
  4. Leadership & Strategic Partnership Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of finance and analytics professionals; establish career paths and succession plans. Act as a trusted advisor to the CFO, executive team, and Board on financial performance, business risks, and strategic opportunities. Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making, accountability, and continuous improvement across the finance function. Represent Finance in cross-functional strategic initiatives (e.g., M&A integration, ERP/systems transformation, network optimization, VBM rollout).
  5. Board of Directors Reporting Partner with the CFO to prepare financial performance materials, board decks, and briefing notes for Board of Directors and Audit/Finance Committee meetings. Translate FP&A, costing, and BI insights into clear, Board-ready narratives on performance, risk, and value creation, including progress against the VBM framework. Ensure accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of financial information presented to the Board, coordinating inputs across Finance, Operations, and Corporate Development. Anticipate Board and Committee information needs, proactively surfacing key trends, risks, and strategic implications ahead of scheduled reporting.
  6. Introduction of Value-Based Management (VBM) Lead the design and rollout of a Value-Based Management framework, connecting financial planning, costing, and BI reporting to long-term value creation rather than budget-to-actual variance alone. Develop value driver trees that link operational metrics (volume, mix, cost, capital efficiency, working capital) to enterprise value and return on invested capital (ROIC). Introduce economic profit / EVA-style measures alongside traditional P&L reporting to sharpen investment, pricing, and capital allocation decisions. Partner with business unit and plant leaders to embed value-based thinking into business cases, capital requests, and performance scorecards. Build organizational fluency in VBM through training, communication, and change management, ensuring adoption beyond the finance function. Establish governance and metrics to track the maturity and impact of VBM adoption over time. Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field required. MBA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional designation strongly preferred. Experience 12–15+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, including significant exposure to FP&A, costing, and BI/analytics. Prior experience in a manufacturing, food & beverage, dairy, or CPG environment strongly preferred, given Agropur's operational complexity (multi-plant, multi-product costing). 5+ years in a senior leadership role managing multi-disciplinary finance teams. Demonstrated experience partnering with C-suite/executive leadership and presenting to Boards or senior stakeholders. Experience leading BI/reporting transformation and modern analytics tool adoption (Power BI, Tableau, or similar). To be discussed with Elisa Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and cost accounting modules. Experience introducing or scaling Value-Based Management, Economic Value Added (EVA), or similar value-driver-based performance frameworks strongly preferred. Experience establishing internal and external benchmarking programs to drive performance improvement. Skills & Competencies Strong strategic and analytical mindset with the ability to translate complex data into clear business narratives. Proven ability to build and scale finance organizations through change and growth. Excellent executive presence, communication, and influencing skills. High degree of business acumen in manufacturing operations and cost drivers. Track record of driving process improvement, automation, and standardization. Working knowledge of value-based management concepts (economic profit, ROIC, value driver analysis, cost of capital). Bilingual (English/French) an asset, given Agropur's footprint. A role for those who want to create real impact and contribute to measurable and sustainable results. Agropur welcomes people from all backgrounds and origins. We are proud to be an employer with a diverse community and are committed to providing a respectful and inclusive experience for all employees and applicants. We will work with candidates who request accommodation. Please note that an adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
