The Hybrid Housekeeping Supervisor / Room Attendant position supports the efficient operation of the Housekeeping Department while helping ensure Coast Hotels’ cleanliness and guest service standards are consistently maintained throughout the hotel. This role is designed to support operational needs throughout the year, with a greater focus on Housekeeping Supervisor shifts during the busy summer season and more Room Attendant shifts during slower winter periods.

When scheduled as a Housekeeping Supervisor, the rate of pay will be $30.30 per hour.

When scheduled as a Room Attendant, the rate of pay will be $29.35 per hour.

This position plays an important role in maintaining a positive team environment, supporting day-to-day housekeeping operations, and delivering exceptional internal and external guest service.

Responsibilities

Housekeeping Supervisor Duties

  • Assist the Executive Housekeeper in the daily operation of the Housekeeping Department
  • Ensure guest rooms and public areas meet established Coast Hotels cleanliness and presentation standards
  • Conduct daily room inspections using departmental checklists and complete required documentation
  • Assign daily duties and provide work direction to the Housekeeping team
  • Follow up on maintenance and repair requests with the Maintenance department
  • Ensure a safe work environment is maintained at all times, including compliance with WHMIS and safety procedures
  • Conduct end-of-shift inspections to ensure standards are consistently maintained
  • Support training, coaching, and communication within the Housekeeping team

Room Attendant Duties

  • Clean and service guest rooms and public areas according to hotel standards
  • Ensure rooms are properly prepared prior to guest arrival
  • Replenish guest room supplies and amenities as required
  • Report maintenance concerns and safety issues promptly
  • Support overall housekeeping operations as needed

Skills / Knowledge / Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of housekeeping and/or supervisory experience in a hotel environment preferred
  • Successful completion of secondary school required
  • Post-secondary hospitality education considered an asset
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Self-motivated team player with strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service excellence
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills
  • Physical ability to lift, push, and pull up to 25 lbs, stand and walk for extended periods, bend, kneel, stoop, and perform repetitive movements
  • Flexible availability including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
