Café Manager – Port Moody

Caffè Divano is looking for a full-time Café Manager to lead our Port Moody café and become part of our family-run business.

For over 20 years, Caffè Divano has been a community gathering place built on warmth, quality, and connection. We proudly serve handcrafted specialty coffee alongside fresh, scratch-baked goods from our sister bakery, Gabi & Jules Handmade Pies & Pastries. With locations in Port Moody and Coquitlam, we’re passionate about creating welcoming spaces where both customers and staff feel genuinely cared for.

We’re looking for a hands-on leader who brings positivity, accountability, and strong people skills — someone who loves hospitality, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is excited to grow with a business that values kindness and community.

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of food & beverage management experience, including:
  • staff scheduling
  • labour management
  • inventory control
  • ordering and supplier coordination
  • A genuine passion for hospitality and creating exceptional customer experiences
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and support a diverse team with empathy, professionalism, and respect
  • Food preparation knowledge or kitchen experience
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Flexible availability, including weekends and early mornings
  • Interest in a long-term leadership role with autonomy and growth opportunities

Nice to Have

  • Experience preparing specialty coffee beverages using a semi-automatic espresso machine
  • Previous café or quick-service restaurant leadership experience

What You’ll Do

As Café Manager, you’ll oversee the day-to-day operations of the Port Moody café, ensuring a consistently high standard of service, product quality, and team culture. You’ll work closely with the owners and current manager during a 3–4 month training and transition period, with the goal of independently leading the café long-term.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership

  • Create staff schedules and manage labour targets
  • Delegate responsibilities and oversee daily operations
  • Hire, onboard, train, and coach team members
  • Foster a supportive, respectful, and accountable workplace culture
  • Recognize strong performance and address concerns professionally

Customer Experience

  • Create a warm, welcoming environment for guests
  • Build relationships with regular customers and community members
  • Handle customer concerns with care and professionalism
  • Maintain high standards of hospitality and service

Operations & Administration

  • Manage inventory, ordering, and stock levels
  • Conduct regular inventory counts and minimize waste
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and food handling standards
  • Maintain café cleanliness, organization, and equipment upkeep
  • Communicate clearly with ownership, supervisors, and shift leads
