About The Role - Food & Beverage Manager
Salary Range: $70,000 ~ $80,000
Park Hyatt Toronto is seeking a highly motivated, passionate, and service-driven Food & Beverage Manager to lead the operations of Joni Restaurant, Mini Bar, and In-Room Dining. We are seeking a leader who is passionate about refined dining, elevated service, and creating exceptional culinary experiences in a luxury environment while upholding our commitment to the Park Hyatt brand promise.
Reporting to the Director of Food & Beverage, the Food & Beverage Manager will oversee the daily operations of multiple outlets, ensuring operational excellence, financial performance, colleague engagement, and memorable guest experiences. Working closely with the Culinary team and fellow leaders, you will inspire your team to deliver intuitive, personalized service in an elegant and refined environment.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Operations
Lead the daily operations of Joni Restaurant, Mini Bar, and In-Room Dining, ensuring exceptional service and operational efficiency. Maintain Forbes Five-Star service standards and consistently exceed guest expectations. Serve as a visible leader by engaging with guests, anticipating their needs, and creating memorable experiences. Support other Food & Beverage outlets and special events as business demands require. Ensure all outlets maintain impeccable cleanliness, presentation, ambiance, and luxury service standards.
Team Leadership
Recruit, onboard, train, coach, and develop a high-performing team that embodies the Park Hyatt service culture. Foster a positive and inclusive work environment focused on colleague engagement, accountability, and continuous learning. Conduct regular performance coaching, recognition, and development conversations. Lead daily pre-shift meetings and ensure colleagues are informed, motivated, and prepared for service.
Guest Experience
Deliver personalized and anticipatory luxury service that reflects Forbes Five-Star expectations. Resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally while creating service recovery opportunities. Build meaningful guest relationships and recognize returning guests and their preferences. Ensure consistent execution of luxury dining experiences across all service touchpoints. Financial & Business Performance Drive revenue through upselling, menu knowledge, promotions, and exceptional guest engagement. Monitor daily sales, labor costs, productivity, and departmental expenses to achieve financial objectives. Support forecasting, budgeting, and inventory management. Analyze financial results and implement strategies to improve profitability while maintaining service excellence.
Food & Beverage Excellence
Collaborate with Culinary and Beverage teams on seasonal menus, wine pairings, and special promotions. Ensure proper execution of food and beverage presentation, quality, and service timing. Oversee Mini Bar inventory, replenishment, and product standards. Maintain strong product knowledge, including wines, spirits, cocktails, and current industry trends.
Compliance & Administration
Ensure compliance with Hyatt policies, health and safety regulations, food safety standards, and Smart Serve requirements. Maintain accurate scheduling, payroll, inventory, and operational documentation. Participate in leadership meetings and contribute to departmental initiatives and continuous improvement projects. Ensure all equipment is maintained and operational issues are addressed promptly.
Qualifications
Minimum 4 years of progressive leadership experience in luxury Food & Beverage operations, preferably within a luxury hotel environment. Previous experience managing multiple outlets is preferred. Experience in a Michelin-Starred, Michelin-Recommended, Forbes Five-Star, Relais & Châteaux, or similarly recognized luxury dining environment is considered a strong asset. Smart Serve Certification and Food Handler Certification required. Strong knowledge of food, wine, spirits, cocktails, and luxury dining service. WSET certification or equivalent beverage education is considered an asset. Proven ability to recruit, develop, coach, and retain high-performing teams. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. Experience with POS systems, Microsoft Office, and hotel operating systems. Financial acumen with experience managing labor, expenses, and inventory. Passion for luxury hospitality with exceptional attention to detail. Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
