Role Description The Houseperson / Laundry Attendant is a part-time, on-site role located at Homewood Suites by Hilton in Ajax, ON. This role is responsible for supporting the housekeeping team by collecting, transporting, and organizing linens and supplies throughout the hotel. Day-to-day tasks include operating laundry equipment, washing, drying, folding, and stocking linens and towels, and maintaining cleanliness in laundry and storage areas. The role also assists with general public area cleaning, removing trash, replenishing guest supplies, and responding to guest requests in a timely and courteous manner. The Houseperson / Laundry Attendant works closely with other team members to ensure rooms and common areas are clean, safe, and ready for guests. Qualifications Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing for extended periods, lifting, carrying, and pushing laundry carts and housekeeping equipment safely. Basic understanding of cleaning and laundry procedures, including proper use of detergents, stain removal, and safe operation of washers and dryers. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization in guest areas and back-of-house spaces. Effective communication and teamwork skills, including the ability to follow instructions, coordinate with housekeeping and front desk teams, and respond professionally to guest requests. Reliable time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, and adapt to changing operational needs. Previous experience in housekeeping, laundry, or hotel operations is an asset but not required; training will be provided. Availability to work a flexible part-time schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed. Commitment to safety and hygiene practices, including adherence to hotel policies, health and safety standards, and handling of chemicals and equipment according to guidelines.
