Company Description Ryes & Shine Distillery is a small-batch craft distillery coming soon to Vancouver Island, Canada. The distillery is focused on producing high-quality spirits with careful attention to detail and local character. Team members will have the opportunity to help shape operations and guest experiences from the ground up. Working at Ryes & Shine Distillery offers hands-on involvement in all aspects of craft production in a collaborative, safety-focused environment. Role Description The Part-Time Distillery Hand will support daily production and facility operations at our on-site location in Canada. Responsibilities include assisting with mashing, fermentation, distillation, and bottling, as well as cleaning and maintaining equipment and work areas to meet health and safety standards. The role involves handling raw materials, monitoring basic process parameters, labeling and packaging finished products, and helping with inventory organization. The Distillery Hand may also support tasting room or visitor activities, such as setup, cleanup, and light customer interaction, as needed. This is a part-time, on-site position that requires reliable attendance, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to perform physical tasks. Qualifications Ability to perform physical tasks safely, including lifting moderate weights, standing for extended periods, and working in a production environment. Strong attention to detail, cleanliness, and organization in handling equipment, ingredients, and finished products. Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn distillation processes, equipment operation, and standard operating procedures. Good communication skills and ability to work cooperatively within a small team environment. Commitment to safety, quality, and compliance with local regulations related to alcohol production and handling. Previous experience in food and beverage production, brewing, or distilling is an asset but not required. Availability to work part-time shifts, including possible evenings or weekends, depending on production needs. Legal authorization to work in Canada and minimum legal drinking age in the province of employment.
