The West Country, UK. (Jul 21)
Some weekends stand out, and this has been one!
No real plans going into it, and nothing but great memories coming out.
Started off by watching the sunrise at Stonehenge, which meant a 4am start – it was magical!
Then a cycle around the Wiltshire countyside. We ended up in a most exquisite campsite on the edge of the Cotswolds just west of Bath. Words cannot describe just how perfect it was in every respect. The owner has pitched it just right!
The “SSSI” farm is not on any of the usual camping websites and took some effort to find. We were surrounded by wildlife and farm animals. It’s not every campsite that has a herd of cattle (plus bull) thundering past your tent!
Some real long term environmental investment going on here! Andy and Lauren joined us on Friday night, followed by Natty on Saturday.
Some great family time out in the most perfect of conditions at an enchanting location.
Lovely to see Lauren’s camper van coming on. She started the project well before it became de rigueur.
