The Elmbrook Farm is a small family-run business in Picton, ON. We are innovative and our goal is to work within our community to provide fresh, nutritious and delicious products from our own farm, our bees and our bakery. We use sustainable, regenerative and organic practices.

We are seeking a Sourdough Baker to join our team in our home-based bakery on our property until we move into our retail location in Picton mid summer. As a Sourdough Baker, you will be responsible for assisting with the production of sourdough baked goods and ensuring that all products meet our high standards of quality and freshness.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with the preparation and production of sourdough baked goods, including bread, bagels, baguettes, butter tarts, and other sourdough specialties
• Follow recipes and instructions accurately to ensure consistency in product quality
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including equipment and tools
• Assist with inventory management by monitoring stock levels of ingredients and supplies
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure timely completion of orders
• Support with on-site sourdough baking classes

Requirements:

• Prior experience working in a "made from scratch" bakery
• Ability to follow recipes accurately and work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality products
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment / and independently
• Comfortable working in a digital environment (iPad or similar)
• Flexibility to work afternoons, early mornings and weekends

This is a year-round position - although it is exceptionally busy in the months from May through to October it will be slower through the remaining months. We offer competitive pay rates based on experience.
