We are searching for an Evening Cleaner/Night Security to join our Maintenance Department at Parkland Clayton Park based in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

About The Opportunity
Performs interior and exterior rounds and inspects property to prevent issues that may be a threat to the security of residents and staff. Take the lead on resolving security/safety problems in consultation with the Maintenance Coordinator. Reports and / or addresses areas and equipment in need of repair to appropriate department. Assists in the testing of emergency response systems for the facility. Requisitions necessary materials, supplies, parts and tools and maintains control of storage and use. Ensures resident safety by following and applying all standard operational procedures, safe work practices and training provided. Assists in conducting routine and follow-up inspections to determine compliance with Occupational Health & Safety rules and regulations, chemical and general safety standards; makes recommendations and / or takes appropriate action to minimize potential safety, health and environmental risks in consultation with the Maintenance Coordinator Aids residents in transporting personal belongings to their suite. Accepts and delivers packages on behalf of residents and operational departmants. Responds to internal phone calls and processes requests according to the Parkland policies and procedures. Additional duties as assigned/required
About You
In addition to placing high value on continuous improvement, collaboration and accountability, you bring:
High School Diploma or completion of equivalent education Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a hotel, retirement living, or other hospitality-based industry Diploma in Security Services, Hospitality, or Tourism, is considered an asset Previous experience in construction or building maintenance is considered an asset Previous experience in industrial cleaning is considered an asset Previous experience in provision of security services is an asset Successful candidates will be required to obtain a clear Criminal Record Check, and where applicable, a Vulnerable Sector Check, prior to appointment
