The Career.

As a Night Concierge / Security Team Member at a V!VA Retirement Community, you will be responsible for providing exceptional overnight service while helping to ensure the safety, comfort, and security of Community Members, guests, and Team Members.

Working closely with the Wellness Team and Community leadership, you will monitor building access, conduct security rounds, respond to emergencies, support Community Member requests, and help maintain a safe, welcoming, and well-presented environment overnight. You will play an important role in providing peace of mind to Community Members and their families while supporting the Community's commitment to exceptional service.

You will serve as a role model for V!VA's Values and Culture, creating an environment where Community Members, guests, and Team Members feel welcomed, respected, valued, and safe.

Key Responsibilities

Provide a warm, welcoming, and professional presence for Community Members, families, guests, and visitors Monitor building access points, entrances, exits, and parking areas to help maintain Community safety and security Control guest entry and verify visitor access after hours Conduct regular security rounds of interior and exterior Community spaces Monitor CCTV systems, alarms, and security systems and respond appropriately to unusual activity Respond to emergency situations, security concerns, and Community Member requests in a calm and professional manner Contact Emergency Services, emergency contacts, or Community leadership as required Support emergency response procedures and provide assistance to emergency responders when required Identify, document, and report safety, security, maintenance, or environmental concerns Monitor the cleanliness, presentation, and overall appearance of key common areas to help ensure a welcoming overnight environment Work closely with the overnight Wellness Team to support the safety, well-being, and comfort of Community Members Communicate incidents, concerns, and updates effectively during shift handovers Maintain accurate records, logs, incident reports, and Community Member documentation Assist Community Members with transportation arrangements, bookings, reservations, and general concierge requests when required Ensure concerns and requests are responded to promptly and professionally Provide exceptional customer service while fostering positive relationships with Community Members, families, guests, and Team Members Support infection prevention and control practices when required Participate in audits, inspections, and compliance activities as assigned Adhere to all V!VA policies, procedures, health and safety requirements, and service standards Other duties and special projects as assigned

Qualifications

Previous experience in concierge services, hospitality, customer service, security, retirement living, healthcare, or a related environment is considered an asset Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills Passion for creating positive first impressions and delivering exceptional service experiences A calm, professional, and reassuring approach when interacting with Community Members, guests, families, and Team Members Strong observational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team Excellent verbal and written communication skills Comfortable responding to emergencies and managing challenging situations with professionalism Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel Ability to maintain accurate documentation and incident reports Valid CPR/First Aid certification required Smart Serve certification is considered an asset Valid Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS) required Ability to safely lift, carry, push, and move up to 50 lbs Ability to work overnight shifts, weekends, and statutory holidays as required Available for call-ins and emergency coverage when required Able to effectively communicate in verbal and written English
