Cook
Plans and prepares meals according to established standards, procedures, recipes and menus, including preparing special meals to meet appropriate therapeutic menu modifications according to established guidelines Assists with preparation of food for special functions (e.g. catering, theme dinners) to ensure service meets established standards Reports any recipe shortages, discrepancies or quality issues to the Executive Chef or supervisor in a timely manner Executes departmental policies, procedures and guidelines as a member of the divisional Food Services Team Executes food services for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner within a Supportive Living Lifestyle dining room in accordance with Brand Standards Executes food Services for special functions such as catering and theme dinners to ensure service meets established standards Consistently ensures food quality, presentation, and service delivery meet established department standards; ensures meals are attractive, the correct temperature and portion size, and that service is timely Introduces self to new resident in the dining rooms as part of resident orientation / welcome Responds to resident food service needs and expectations in accordance to service expectations Effectively communicates and interacts with residents, family members, visitors and volunteers in a courteous and professional manner Assists in the orientation of new Team Members to ensure standards are met Clean and sanitize cooking station daily; maintain the cleanliness of kitchen equipment such as ovens, kettles, mixers, and others to maintain safety and sanitation in the kitchen to meet legislative and organizational standards; responsible for the clear and correct labeling of excess food Follows disposal procedures according to established waste management guidelines for organics, paper, plastics, cans/bottles, non-recyclable material, etc. Additional duties as assigned/required
Dishwasher
Processing all dishware and maintaining sanitation of dish machine, kitchen aide and dish sinks according to established cleaning guidelines Returning clean dishware to appropriate storage areas for use by Culinary Services employees Bussing of tables in the dining rooms and catering areas as required Maintaining cleanliness to standard in the kitchen and kitchen aide areas All other duties as assigned/required
Server
Consistently ensures food quality, presentation, and service delivery meet established department standards. Ensures meals are visually appealing, the correct temperature and portion size, and that service is warm, attentive and timely Prepare and provide meal service to residents and guests according to established standards, procedures and guidelines and respecting the resident’s right to individualized services and observing special diet restrictions, resident preferences and outlined departmental procedures Ensure dining room appearance meets established standards including table linens pressed and in place, tables set with appropriate place settings for meals, wait stations tidy and containing appropriate supplies Clear tables, load and safely operate dishwasher. Complete manual ware washing as required Contribute to the team environment as a member of the Food and Beverage department, working towards departmental goals and priorities and providing ongoing feedback from residents and guests to the Food and Beverage Manager on meals and menu choices to be continually improving Demonstrates an understanding of the importance of respecting client’s rights, including respecting others, maintaining confidentiality, promoting independence, respecting privacy, respecting the right to refuse services and involvement Communicates with the supervisor if there is a noted change in the nutritional status of a resident (i.e. changes in appetite) Promote a safety culture by continuously working safely including but not limited to identifying and reporting hazards, following safe work practices and procedures, wearing personal protective equipment, supporting others to work safely, and completing safety education Performs all other related duties as assigned/required
Concierge
Answers and transfers telephone inquiries, greets and directs visitors; Provides routine information and responds to inquiries from residents, visitors, and staff; Sorts and distributes incoming and outgoing mail and couriers; Prepares and distributes forms, reports and other documents to appropriate personnel and departments; Relays residents’ requests for assistance to appropriate department Enters resident maintenance service requests into appropriate software Enters potential resident information into the Client Relationship Management software Performs a wide variety of assignments, which are sometimes confidential in nature; Receives, processes and records client payments; Ensures client safety by following and applying all standard operational procedures, safe work practices and training provided Additional duties as required.
Housekeeper
Thoroughly clean common areas including lobbies, hallways, and stairwells Sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, cleaning and sanitizing kitchens and bathrooms. Completes common area housekeeping duties as per assignment Collect refuse from residents' rooms and dispose of this refuse in accordance with set procedures Documents all completed job routine tasks Completes audits and inspections as required Completes resident’s personal laundry services as requested Communicates supply needs to People Leader in a timely manner Efficiently uses supplies and equipment to maintain service quality levels Clean and restock housekeeping cart; notify Supervisor when supplies are low Promote safety culture by continuously working safely including but not limited to identifying and reporting hazards, following safe work practices and procedures, wearing personal protective equipment, supporting others to work safely and completing safety education. All additional duties as assigned/required
About You

A high-school diploma or a GED Current food handlers’ certificate (preferred) Minimum of 2 years of operational experience in a high-volume kitchen Knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation Ability to read & follow detailed recipes/instructions as required and communicate in an efficient manner in a team-oriented setting Successful candidates will be required to obtain a clear Criminal Record Check, and where applicable, a Vulnerable Sector Check, prior to appointment A passion for the healthcare sector and/or ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations, services and care
Dishwasher
A high-school diploma or GED Ability to work a schedule of flexible hours and shifts inclusive of days, nights, weekends, and holidays Successful candidates will be required to obtain a clear Criminal Record Check, and where applicable, a Vulnerable Sector Check, prior to appointment CPR & Emergency First Aid Certification and/or Basics Food Safety Training/ Food Handler's course would be considered an asset Previous experience working with seniors in a Retirement Living or Long-Term Care environment would be considered an asset
Server
A high-school diploma or equivalent education Proof of valid Basic Food Safety Certification required Proof of valid Smart Serve Certification required At least one year of experience with serving food or demonstrated experience in customer service Successful candidates will be required to obtain a clear Criminal Record Check, and where applicable, a Vulnerable Sector Check, prior to appointment Previous experience working with the elderly in long-term care or a seniors independent living environment an asset. Proof of completed Alzheimer’s Care Course an asset A passion for the healthcare sector and/or ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations, services, and care
Concierge
High School / GED completion; Minimum 2 years' experience working in a hotel, Retirement Living or hospitality-based position considered an asset. Excellent computer skills and experience in Microsoft Office Suite; Previous hospitality/customer service experience is an asset, especially with seniors; A friendly outgoing spirit is a definite asset; Experience with cash flow; Knowledge of Medical Terminology is considered an asset; Required to be available for day, evening and weekend shifts as required; A passion for the healthcare sector and/or ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations, services and care.
Housekeeper
A High School diploma or equivalent education Minimum of one (1) year experience in commercial housekeeping and/ or laundry A high level of initiative for and commitment to completing housekeeping assignments efficiently and in a warm, friendly, and customer-service-oriented manner. Ability to communicate well with internal and external customers to meet needs in a polite, courteous, and cooperative manner Knowledge of infection control and prevention practices Ability to utilize auto scrubber, floor buffer, vacuum Previous experience working with seniors or in a seniors’ living environment considered an asset Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and can safely use chemical cleaning agents and equipment Ability to provide a clear criminal record check upon hire Completed Dementia: Understanding the Journey course considered an asset Successful candidates will be required to obtain a clear Criminal Record Check, and where applicable, a Vulnerable Sector Check, prior to appointment A passion for the healthcare sector and/or ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations, services and care
