The Millwright Apprentice will assist the Millwright (Ticketed) with maintenance and repair of stationary industrial equipment within the snowmaking department. As well assisting the Mountain Operations Maintenance staff with repairs, preventative maintenance of other stationary and mobile equipment (ski lifts, snow grooming equipment). The Millwright Apprentice will also be completing welding and fabrication tasks within the department and for other departments throughout the resort.
YEAR ROUND - FULL TIME
HOURLY WAGE- $29.57
HOURS:
Summer: Monday – Thursday 7:30am to 5:00 pm and Friday 7:30am to 12:00pm
Winter : Tuesday-Saturday 6:00am to 3:00pm
WHAT WILL I BE DOING?
The Millwright Apprentice will assist the Millwright (Ticketed) with maintenance and repair of stationary industrial equipment within the snowmaking department. As well assisting the Mountain Operations Maintenance staff with repairs, preventative maintenance of other stationary and mobile equipment (ski lifts, snow grooming equipment). The Millwright Apprentice will also be completing welding and fabrication tasks within the department and for other departments throughout the resort.
Assists in the diagnoses, troubleshooting, and maintenance of stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment. Under the guidance of the Ticketed Millwright, the Apprentice performs the repair and preventative maintenance practices exercised by the Mountain Operations department (IE. ski lifts, snow groomers, snowmaking equipment). Working independently and with others to solve mechanical and technical problems. Assists with the Welding/Fabricating for Mountain Operations as well as other departments on resort Is aware of and is compliant with the standards and tactics of the business unit as directed by their leaders through training and coaching.
WHAT DO YOU NEED FROM ME?
Will be working toward achieving 433A Industrial Mechanic Millwright certification OSSD or completion of high school equivalency (GED) Valid Ontario “G” class driver’s license, with a clean driver’s abstract Basic knowledge of welding and fabrication procedures an asset
