Role Description This is a Part-time, on-site Barista role based at Koujina Café in Montreal, QC. The Barista will prepare and serve coffee, espresso-based beverages, teas, and other drinks according to café standards, while ensuring consistent quality and presentation. Daily tasks include greeting and assisting guests, taking orders, operating the point-of-sale system, and handling payments accurately. The Barista will also assist with food preparation, such as assembling pastries or light meals, maintaining a clean and organized workstation, and following all health and safety guidelines. The role involves restocking supplies, supporting opening or closing procedures, and working closely with team members to deliver efficient, friendly service during peak and off-peak hours. Qualifications Strong customer-facing abilities, including Customer Service and Interpersonal Skills, to create a welcoming and respectful guest experience. Hands-on Barista skills, including experience with espresso machines, coffee brewing methods, and drink preparation. Clear and professional Communication skills for interacting with guests and collaborating with team members. Basic Food Preparation skills, with an understanding of hygiene, safety, and consistency in product quality. Ability to stand for extended periods, handle a fast-paced environment, and manage multiple tasks at once. Attention to detail, reliability, and punctuality, with a strong sense of responsibility toward shift duties. Previous café, restaurant, or hospitality experience is an asset but not required; willingness to learn is essential. Comfort working in an inclusive, diverse team environment; availability for mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
