TITLE: Material Handler LOCATION: Onsite in Scarborough, ON SHIFT & HOURS: Day Shift: Monday to Friday from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm Hiring Hourly Rate: $23.26/hr (plus afternoon shift premium) Griffith Foods is hiring a Material Handler to support production and warehouse operations. This role is responsible for the efficient movement, storage, and handling of materials, including supplying production lines and maintaining inventory accuracy. The Material Handler must follow all safety and food safety standards while helping ensure orders are delivered on time, in full, and to quality requirements. Vacancy Status: This posting is for an existing vacancy. As a Material Handler, your responsibilities will include: Performs duties in accordance with established procedures, work instructions, and quality standards. Transfers material/finished goods from bagging and/or bakeries into inventory, etc. Keeps material and racks, clean & tidy. Keeps narrow-aisle reach-truck clean, tidy & safe. Adheres to material handling procedures and demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of proper storage, movement, and safe handling of goods. Checks that all materials are correctly stored and transferred using the Radio Frequency device. Maintains inventory counts and levels. Communicates internally with other departments for the purpose of gathering, distributing materials and maintaining inventory. Qualified candidates will have: High school diploma or equivalent Basic mathematical foundations Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently, including comprehension of instructions, correspondence, and memos, and the ability to communicate effectively. Minimum 1 year of experience operating forklifts Ability to regularly lift and/or carry up to 25kg throughout the shift. What will set you apart: Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment. Microsoft DAX or other ERP knowledge. Valid forklift license with hands-on experience operating Crown and/or Raymond narrow aisle reach trucks Candidates must currently be at least 18 years of age AND possess unrestricted authorization to work in Canada. Work visa sponsorship is not available for this role. This is a safety sensitive position, and it requires the use of an N9 NIOSH-approved fitted respirator (“N95”) or an approved alternative. Successful candidates will be required to go through appropriate fit-testing and will be required to wear an N95 while performing their duties.
