Role Description The Assistant Restaurant Manager is a full-time, on-site role located in Surrey, BC. In this position, the individual supports the Restaurant Manager in overseeing daily restaurant operations, including supervising service staff, coordinating reservations, and ensuring high standards of guest service. Responsibilities include monitoring food and beverage quality, supporting menu and specials communication, handling guest inquiries and feedback, and maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations. The role involves assisting with staff scheduling, training, and performance guidance, as well as managing cash handling, reporting, and inventory controls. The Assistant Restaurant Manager works closely with the kitchen and bar teams to deliver a seamless, guest-focused experience and supports initiatives to improve efficiency and revenue. Qualifications Experience in restaurant or hospitality operations, including supervising service teams and supporting daily front-of-house activities. Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle guest feedback professionally and maintain a welcoming, inclusive environment. Basic understanding of food and beverage service standards, menu knowledge, and coordination with kitchen and bar teams. Organizational and time-management skills, including experience with scheduling, shift planning, and monitoring restaurant workflows. Familiarity with cash handling, POS systems, and simple reporting or inventory tracking. Knowledge of health, safety, and hygiene practices relevant to restaurant operations. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support staff training and motivate diverse team members. Previous experience in a supervisory or team lead position in hospitality is preferred. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required. Relevant hospitality or restaurant management education, certification, or equivalent experience is an advantage.
