Role: We are looking for an experienced and qualified Class 1 driver who is safety-focused and knowledgeable in the National Safety Code regulations for Commercial Motor Vehicles. The candidate must have time-management abilities, practice due diligence, and have a sense of accountability due to day-to-day working environment involving minimal direct supervision. This is a pay per load position. \n
Responsibilities: Safely transport live animals (e.g., poultry or cattle) from farms to designated facilities. (Northern Alberta Facilities) Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and trailer. Ensure humane handling of livestock. Monitor animal welfare during transit and respond to emergencies if needed. Maintain cleanliness and biosecurity standards of transport equipment. Complete and submit accurate transport logs and delivery documentation. Communicate effectively with farm staff, dispatch, and facility personnel.
Requirements: Minimum of 3 years issued Class 1 license with air brake (Q) endorsement Clean Commercial Driver’s Abstract printed within 30 days Resume with minimum of 3 years working experience with references* Provincial/Federal Daily Driver’s Log experience Maintenance/Heavy Duty repair experience is an asset Experience with transporting livestock is an asset Positive attitude and work ethic No border crossing trips required
