About the role
Location: 6487 Knight Street, Vancouver, British Columbia
A KFC Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking the brand's iconic chicken to strict "Gold Standard" quality and food safety requirements. This fast-paced role involves hand-breading meat, monitoring fryer temperatures, managing kitchen inventory, and maintaining a spotless work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Food Preparation: Hand-bread, season, and cook raw chicken according to official company recipes and standard cooking times.
- Quality Assurance: Monitor product quality, ensuring every piece is hot, flavorful, and meets company standards before serving.
- Kitchen Maintenance: Clean, filter, and polish cooking equipment (like fryers), sweep, mop, and ensure food preparation stations remain highly sanitized.
- Inventory Management: Practice FIFO (First-In, First-Out) rotation for meat, restock ingredients, and manage kitchen supplies to prevent shortages.
- Team Collaboration: Communicate efficiently with the front line/packers to ensure the right items are cooked in the right quantities to fulfill orders.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and workplace sanitation guidelines.
