About the role

On behalf of our client, a well-established hospitality group, we are looking for a General Manager/Operating Partner to join their team in the Annapolis Valley.

About The Client: Our client is a successful hospitality group with multiple restaurant operations across Atlantic Canada. They are passionate about creating exceptional guest experiences, building strong teams, and developing leaders who think like business owners. Backed by proven systems and an experienced leadership team, they offer an environment where initiative, accountability, and fresh ideas are encouraged and rewarded.

The Opportunity: This isn't your typical restaurant management role. Our client is looking for someone who wants to lead a business, not just manage a restaurant.

As Restaurant General Manager, you'll be responsible for building a strong team culture, creating outstanding guest experiences, and driving business growth within your community.

You'll have the autonomy to lead the operation as if it were your own, supported by an experienced ownership group that values initiative, accountability, and fresh ideas. For the right person, there is also a long-term profit-sharing and ownership opportunity.

Requirements The Ideal Candidate: You're a people-first leader who knows how to motivate a team, build relationships, and create an environment where both employees and guests want to return. While hospitality experience is certainly valuable, we're equally interested in leaders from retail, sales, customer service, business development, or other service-focused industries. What matters most is your ability to lead people, drive results, and take ownership of a business as if it were your own. You bring energy, accountability, and a genuine desire to be part of the community you serve.

Responsibilities: ●Lead day-to-day restaurant operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences ●Coach, mentor, and develop front-of-house and back-of-house team members ●Foster a positive, accountable, and performance-driven workplace culture ●Drive revenue growth through community engagement, promotions, and local partnerships ●Monitor operational, financial, and staffing performance metrics ●Ensure proper scheduling, staffing, and labour management practices ●Identify opportunities to improve guest satisfaction and overall business performance ●Oversee inventory, ordering, reporting, and administrative responsibilities ●Utilize company systems, reporting tools, and operational software effectively ●Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and employee development initiatives ●Maintain brand standards, food safety requirements, and operational procedures ●Build relationships with guests and become an active presence within the local community

Qualifications:

●Previous leadership experience in hospitality, retail, sales, customer service, operations, or a related field ●Proven ability to motivate, coach, and develop teams ●Strong business acumen and understanding of operational performance metrics ●Experience managing customer-facing environments ●Comfortable using technology, reporting tools, and business software ●Strong communication and interpersonal skills ●Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution ●Entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on growth and continuous improvement ●Self-motivated, accountable, and highly organized

Benefits ●Base salary of approximately $65,000 annually ●Profit-sharing opportunity tied to business performance ●Long-term ownership participation opportunity for the right candidate ●Flexible management environment focused on results rather than micromanagement ●Opportunity to lead and grow an established business with strong operational support ●Vacation package ●Future health and benefits program anticipated ●Full-time leadership position with flexibility based on business needs ●Location: Annapolis Valley, Nova Scotia
