The Metcalfe Hotel delivers in Ottawa an understated luxury to world travelers by showcasing our rich building history and connecting to the current culture, community, and people that make Ottawa a lively 21st century capital city. Newly fully renovated and now part of the Gray Collection, our hotel is now entering a new era.
Reporting to the General Housekeeper, the room attendant ensures exceptional guest service by maintaining cleanliness in guest rooms and public areas, including changing linens, replacing towels, and managing waste. Key responsibilities include accurate documentation of lost items and maintenance issues, adhering to health and safety practices, and proper use of cleaning supplies.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Offer warm and authentic service to our guests by being friendly and always welcoming
- Clean assigned guest rooms according to the company's standards, including the daily changing of bed linens, replacing towels, cleaning the bathroom, dusting, vacuuming/sweeping floors, and the removal of garbage and recyclables
- Document and label any lost and found items found in guestrooms or public areas
- Ensure all corridors, housekeeping closets, and public areas are cleaned to company standards
- Complete daily assignment sheets and document any maintenance issues in the guest rooms
- To be Health & Safety conscious and actively involved in maintaining a safe work environment
- Maintain proper usage of cleaning supplies and equipment and report any deficiencies to management
- Perform any other tasks which are assigned by management
QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous Housekeeping experience or Housekeeping Certificate is an asset
- High standards of cleanliness
- Proven guest service ability with an attention to detail
- Ability to lift and carry linens or housekeeping supplies (up to 30 pounds)
- Ability to stand, walk, kneel, push, pull, and lift throughout shift
- Ability to work as part of a team with autonomy
- Must be available to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, evenings, and/or weekends
- Effective communication skills in English
