Food World Plus is seeking an experienced and results-driven Retail Liquor Manager to lead our Liquor Division. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in retail liquor operations, product purchasing, inventory management, merchandising, and team leadership. This role is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the department, managing buying activities, maintaining supplier relationships, driving sales, and ensuring an exceptional customer experience while complying with all applicable regulations and company policies.
Responsibilities
Manage the daily operations of the Liquor Division to ensure efficient and profitable performance. Purchase and replenish beer, wine, and other beverage products based on sales trends, customer demand, and seasonal requirements. Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and negotiate pricing, promotions, and product availability. Monitor inventory levels, conduct regular stock counts, and minimize shrinkage and product loss. Analyze sales reports and implement strategies to maximize sales and profitability. Plan and execute merchandising displays and promotional activities to enhance the customer shopping experience. Recruit, train, supervise, and motivate department team members. Prepare staff schedules and ensure adequate staffing levels. Ensure excellent customer service by assisting customers and resolving concerns professionally. Maintain accurate inventory, purchasing, and sales records. Ensure compliance with all applicable liquor regulations, health and safety standards, and company policies. Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked department at all times. Collaborate with store management to achieve departmental and company goals.
Experience & Qualifications
Minimum 3–5 years of experience managing a retail liquor, wine, or beverage department. Proven experience in product buying, inventory management, and vendor relations. Strong knowledge of beer, wine, spirits, and current market trends. Experience in merchandising, pricing, and promotional planning. Excellent leadership, coaching, and team management skills. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency with inventory management and point-of-sale (POS) systems. Outstanding customer service and communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment and meet deadlines. Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Knowledge of Ontario liquor regulations and retail compliance is considered an asset.
