JOB DESCRIPTION
The Banquets team at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre plays a vital role in delivering exceptional service and unforgettable experiences. We’re currently hiring Banquet Servers to support a wide range of events from tradeshows and conferences to corporate meetings and galas, with professionalism, efficiency, and a warm, guest-focused approach. Successful candidates will be personable, detail-oriented, and flexible to work rotating shifts, including days, evenings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.
JOB RESPONSIBILTIES
- Prepare tables for meals, buffets, and beverage stations.
- Arrange dishes, cutlery, glasses, and required equipment.
- Serve and clear breakfast, lunch, and dinner buffets.
- Clear tables throughout the event.
- Remove remaining items and transport to bussing areas post-event.
- Operate hot boxes, trays, carts, coffee urns, and wagons.
- Other duties as assigned.
JOB SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Fluent in English with strong written and verbal communication abilities. Fluency in French is an asset.
- Displays strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Uphold excellent grooming and hygiene standards, while providing courteous, friendly, and personable service to client.
- Smart Serve Certification is required.
- Pump truck and tugger certification is an asset.
- Flexible schedule available to work days, evenings, late nights, weekends and Holidays.
- Follows all health and safety guidelines, with a focus on safe lifting practices for weights up to 50 lbs.
