As a patio crew member, you will create an outstanding guest experience on our dockside Patio (1 Brock St., Crawford Wharf) providing guests with fast, quality service. You will be responsible for the operation, cleanliness, and quality of service on our patio.
At Kingston Destination Group we’re looking for candidates interested in joining a fast-paced, service-focused team in one of Ontario’s most unique and rewarding work environments: onboard our sightseeing and dining cruises sailing from downtown Kingston, Ontario. Discover why Kingston and the 1000 Islands attract visitors from around the world, as you help to create an inspiring hospitality experience for our guests.
Season: This is a seasonal position ending October 31, 2026. The Kingston 1000 Islands Cruises operating season begins in April and ends in October.
Qualifications
Positive attitude and professional approach to teamwork and collaboration. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment. Strong verbal communication skills in English required. Proficiency in other languages is an asset. Heavy lifting and other demanding physical work occasionally required. Previous experience in a leadership role considered an asset. Smart-Serve certification required. Safe Food Handlers certification required.
Responsibilities
Complete setup tasks and ensure the patio is ready for service. Maintain an excellent knowledge of food and beverage items, allergens, cook times, and inventory. Ensure that proper cash-out procedures are followed, and floats are accurate. Accurately expedite, fill out, and collect required paperwork (forms, guest evaluations, cleaning lists, deposits). Assess restocking requirements for the patio; food, beverage, and equipment. Consistently meet and exceed standards for service timing and service excellence. Proficiency in the operation and management of POS system and related devices. Anticipate and respond to guests’ needs: exceed expectations, and create an outstanding experience. Additional duties as required to assist other departments.

Compensation
$17.60 per hour
