Overview We are seeking a skilled and dedicated First Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and cooking, with experience in food service environments. This role involves preparing high-quality meals, ensuring food safety standards are met, and supporting the kitchen team in delivering exceptional dining experiences. The First Cook plays a vital role in maintaining efficient kitchen operations and upholding our commitment to excellence in the food industry.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Assist in meal preparation for daily service, special events, and catering needs
- Ensure all food handling practices adhere to food safety regulations and hygiene standards
- Support the kitchen team with food presentation, garnishing, and plating
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and kitchen equipment
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs to management
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of meals
- Follow all health and safety guidelines to promote a safe working environment
Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and food service within a restaurant or similar setting
- Knowledge of food handling procedures and food safety standards
- Strong skills in meal preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen operations
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Prior experience in the food industry or restaurant experience is preferred
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while demonstrating professionalism and reliability
Pay: $30.38 per hour
